Dutch shipyard Heesen Yachts is celebrated for building award-winning luxury performance superyachts featuring groundbreaking technology and design innovation. Delivering custom and semi-custom motoryachts from 34m up to 80m in steel and aluminium, Heesen Yachts has always been a record-breaker. Founded in Oss, Holland in 1978, Heesen Yachts quickly became known for their sleek, sporty design, advanced engineering, and powerful performance.
By the 90’s, the records began to fall. In 1996, Heesen Yachts launched the world’s largest sportfisher. In 1998, the first luxury yacht capable of over 50 knots left the Heesen yard. In 2013, Heesen delivered the award-sweeping Galactica Star and its revolutionary Fast Displacement Hull Form, which delivers higher speeds, impressive stability, and 30% more fuel efficiency. In 2014, Heesen Yachts delivered Alive, the first yacht to harness kinetic energy with Hull Vane technology, and 2017 saw the launch of Home, a cleaner, quieter, and more fuel efficient hybrid yacht. In 2022, Heesen Yachts will launch Galactica, the largest Heesen yacht to date at 80m, following on from the spectacular success of the 70m Galactic Supernova, which achieved 30 knots of speed, one of the fastest yachts in the world in that size range. Over the span of four decades and a fleet of over 175 yachts, Heesen has cemented its global reputation for pushing the boundaries of yacht design and engineering.
The Heesen Yachts shipyard is a world-class facility covering over 4 hectares, with 9 sheds and 4 dry docks, including an 85m dry dock. The in-house team of craftsman, designers, and engineers uphold Heesen’s proud reputation for almost obsessive attention to detail and fine workmanship, and the yard also offers refit services, an original spare parts service, and fly-out-technicians to service any Heesen yacht, anywhere in the world. Heesen Yachts enjoys strong partnerships and working relationships with the heavyweights of naval architecture and design, including Omega Architects, Bannenberg & Rowell, Winch Design, Espen Oino International, Cristiano Gatto Design Team, Van Oossanen, H2 Yacht Design and Sinot Yacht Architecture and Design, creating some of the most highly awarded superyachts in yachting history.
