Over 50 years, Ferretti has been a world leader in the construction of luxury 50’-100’ flybridge yachts. Launched in 1968, Ferretti has come to symbolise Italian flair and maritime innovation, with industry-leading solutions that have changed the way leisure boats are designed. Promising sport and comfort in equal measure, Ferretti continues to go from strength to strength with its fleet of quiet, fast luxury yachts built in composite. Ferretti Yachts is owned by the Ferretti Group and its parent company, China’s Weichai Holding Group, with other luxury yacht brands in the group including Riva, Pershing, CRN, and Wally. The joint expertise, facilities and exceptional R&D capabilities across this group of world-class yacht builders ensure that Ferretti Yachts remains an industry leader.
In 1968, the Ferretti brothers Norbetto and Alessandro added a boat dealership to their family’s successful automotive business, adding luxury yachts to their stable of Maseratis and Lamborghinis. By 1971, the brothers launched their own wooden motorsailer, before moving into motoryachts with the first Ferretti luxury yacht in 1982, and starting production of flybridge, open, and sportfisher vessels. Ferretti soon came to be known for speed, luxury, and innovation. Its fleet of fast planing yachts continued to push the boundaries of technology and design over the subsequent decades, with innovations including underbody exhausts, opening between cockpit and salon, F-TDR (Ferretti Trim and Draft Reduction), electro-hydraulic active Steer by Wire Systems, stabilisation systems, hull glazing, air bags for anchor chains, and submergible hatches. The latest yacht to join the Ferretti fleet is the largest yet, the flagship Ferretti 1000. This 30m, five-stateroom yacht packs a huge amount of superyacht features into the design, while remaining lightweight and fast for efficient planing.
Ferretti’s yacht building facility is in Forli, Italy, where it constructs composite yachts from 16-30 metres at its 14,000sqm facility. The Forli shipyard is also home to the Ferretti Group headquarters. Ferretti has a service network that spans Europe, the Middle East, India, SE Asia, and North America. Ferretti owners can expect the VIP treatment, with special calendar events like the 50-year anniversary celebration in the Doges Palace in Venice in 2018, marked by a jet flyover by the Frecce Tricolori and a weekend at the Arsenale.
