All seafarers employed or engaged in any capacity on ships required to comply with the ISPS Code must complete security awareness training. This course fulfils the requirements of Section A-VI/6, paragraph 4 of the amended STCW Code. The primary objectives of this course include:

  • Understanding the importance of security aboard a vessel and the roles of various organisations and individuals involved.
  • Identifying potential threats, recognising them, and knowing how to respond appropriately.
  • Familiarising yourself with the formal procedures and processes necessary for effective security management.
  • Learning about the equipment available to assist in security tasks and how it enhances security measures.
  • Developing the skills to plan, prepare, monitor, and execute security duties effectively.

Assessment

An online multiple-choice assessment with a pass rate of 60% and three attempts at the exam before you must retake the course.
