Elementary First Aid (STCW Code A-VI/1-3)

This course covers the syllabus required by STCW Code 1995 Table A-VI/1-3 and describes what to do if you encounter medical emergencies onboard. 

You will learn to treat burns, scalds, bleeding, shock, and broken bones. Students learn bandaging methods, how to move and position a patient, and how to improvise materials to help with this. There is a very important practical assessment to the course, where students are required, amongst other things, to carry out resuscitation on a manikin correctly.
