John Wyborn is our famed Director of Training, he visited the UKSA cadets in the Isle of White with our head of crew recruitment.
It was quite the journey…Planes, trains, taxi’s and ferries, but it was worth it! The cadets have also been on an incredible journey to get to this point.
After a rigorous pre-selection process, the cadets embarked upon an intensive programme of training aimed specifically at working in large yachts.
It included training in water sports, seamanship, yacht husbandry and varnishing, basic engineering and superyacht hospitality. The training also contained a 16-week build-up to the RYA Yacht Master Offshore examination.
