Superyacht captains Tristan Mortlock and Peter Cook are joining to share their career advice, discuss what captains are looking for, how to secure your first job onboard, and explain what daywork is!
PYA’s Kim Llorente will join to talk through sea service verification, obtaining a seaman’s book, employment contracts and what to do when there are disputes onboard.
Bluewater’s charter broker, Becki Milton, will give you an idea of guest expectations onboard and talk through charter v private yachts.
Our recruitment specialist Sharon Rose will share tips for your CV and explain how a crew agent works, and give advice on job searches.
Pippa Wastell from our training department will talk through the essential training, what you need and what can wait.
After these short introductions there’ll be a Q&A session, you can also send your questions in advance so we can put them to the panel.
Once you have confirmed your attendance, if your participation is accepted, you will receive the link to join by zoom on the morning of the event.
Please note this event is only open to those new to the world of yachting.
