Crossing for Cystic Fibrosis
The
Crossing For Cystic Fibrosis is a long-distance endurance paddle challenge and international championship race that takes paddlers 80 miles across the Gulf Stream, from Bimini in the Bahamas back to the Florida mainland. The event was inspired because of the incredible health benefits of the Ocean for those living with cystic fibrosis, a terminal lung disease, and benefits the
Piper’s Angels Foundation.
Piper’s Angels Founder and Executive Director Travis Suit created the event after his daughter Piper was diagnosed with CF when she was four years old. This epic marathon is the foundation’s annual flagship event, and one of the most premier paddle events in the world. The Crossing For Cystic Fibrosis has raised over $1,000,000 to date in support of the cystic fibrosis community and was instrumental in establishing the Piper’s Angels Foundation.
The Crossing For Cystic Fibrosis event has been featured in USA Today, ESPN, Weather Channel and over 50 media articles online and print, raising awareness and reaching millions of people through traditional and social media.
