Cogs4Cancer 2015 - Barcelona To Antibes

After raising an impressive €286,000 in 2014, cycling from Ancona to Antibes, the Cogs4Cancer team is back in 2015 for the next challenge and to continue raising money for four important charities: Cancer Research UK, L’Archet Hospital in Nice, Cancer Support Group 06 and Clinique Tzanck Wellbeing. Founded in 2013 by a group of cyclists from the yachting community, Cogs4Cancer has raised €399,560 in total over two years, with 100% of the funds raised going directly to charity. The riders and support team are all entirely self-funded, and they work tirelessly to bring the yachting community together for this important cause. With the support of cycling enthusiast HSH Prince Albert II of Monaco, as well as celebrities such as Rihanna, Novak Djokovic and Victoria’s Secret supermodel Lily Aldridge, Cogs4Cancer has truly raised awareness of this disease that has touched so many individuals within the superyacht industry.

In 2015, the ride will be bigger and better, with two teams of 24 riders taking on the 850km between Barcelona and Antibes, in just five days. There will also be a chance for everyone to get involved with two tribute rides, in Spain on Sunday 4th October and in France on Friday 9th October, the final day of the ride. For more information on how you can take part in one of the tribute rides, please visit the Cogs4Cancer website.
Bluewater is delighted to be sponsoring Captain Alan Griffith for the 2015 ride. Captain on the 47m Heesen Raasta, Alan is passionate about cycling and this is the second time he has ridden for Cogs4Cancer. Along with his fellow riders, Alan is committed to raising as much money as possible for these cancer charities in the UK and the south of France, and would love to improve on the already remarkable amount raised last year.

Bluewater wishes all the riders the best of luck and looks forward to welcoming them all safely back to Antibes on Friday 9th October.

Donations to this amazing cause can be made here and you can also buy your own Cogs4Cancer wristband to show your support.
