I started sailing as a teenager and very quickly realised that the sea was in my blood. However, despite the call of the sea, I spent my early career in the IT industry working in the big cities in a suit and tie. 15 years ago, I decided to give up the suits and started teaching practical sailing and navigational theory. I have a particular passion for ‘Celestial Navigation’ having used it in anger, crossing oceans before the advent of the electronic age. I began teaching with bluewater in 2015, where you can find me in front of the whiteboard in Celestial Navigation, Yachtmaster Ocean, Yachtmaster Offshore, and GMDSS courses.
