Agustin Hernández joins Bluewater as a Yacht Sales and Purchase Specialist. He is a native of Guadalajara, Mexico. His Mother served in the Mexican Navy and inspired him to follow a career in the Maritime Industry.

He decided to attend the Merchant Marine Academy where he graduated from in 1995. Agustin began his career immediately, working on a variety of oil tankers and container ships all over the world. His love for the ocean and his career helped him quickly climb the ranks, achieving Chief Officer by 1997.

Although Agustin was doing well in the Merchant Marine Industry he decided to follow his passion and interest for the Luxury Superyacht Industry which brought him to Miami, Florida in 2001. Here he started a new chapter of his career as a Yacht Captain on board MY 85’ Xeitosa in 2001 and has loved it ever since! He has worked on several yachts including, 121’ M/Y What A Country, 116’ M/Y Abie, and 108’ M/Y Orso 3.

Captain Agustin has gained a wealth of technical knowledge and leadership experience through his positions on board as well as in his land based roles. He has also overseen several New Build yacht constructions as well as many refits in European Shipyards, including 116’ M/Y Abie, 75’ M/Y Orso 2, and 108’ M/Y Orso 3, just to name a few.

During the last 18 years, Agustin has established global connections and extensive knowledge in the Luxury Yachting Sector which enables him to assist clients in obtaining the best yacht options for their needs. He is dedicated to assisting clients in finding or building their perfect boat or yacht. Agustin is a licensed Yacht Captain, he speaks English, Spanish, and some Italian. When he is not on the water he often spends his time with family or playing soccer with friends.
