We’ve spent some enchanting days aboard Super Yacht exploring the Seychelles. Here are our insights on what to consider and what truly defines luxury in this paradise.

Embarking on this journey may well become the highlight of your lifetime. The profound beauty of the Seychelles islands transcends mere words, and explorations of the local national parks are sure to leave you in awe. A spirit of adventure will accompany you throughout, as the vast majority of the 115-island archipelago remains uninhabited and pristine. Even after more than 150 years since Praslin Island was likened to the Garden of Eden, the comparison still holds true.

Considerations for your voyage

Beach landings: In Seychelles, the tenders designed for beach landings, allowing you to go ashore even in the absence of a pier or marina—are essential.

Navigational conditions: The region typically boasts calm waters, gentle winds, and secure anchorages for overnight stays. However, the weather can be capricious; we experienced excessive heat and a scarcity of fresh air.

Yacht Selection: A diverse array of yachts is available to accommodate your holiday needs. An increasing number of attractive charter superyachts spend the winter and spring in the Seychelles before setting sail for the Mediterranean in the summer. Given the considerable distance from urban centers and civilization, choosing the right yacht is crucial. Each return to the vessel should be met with welcoming crew members and amenities that bring a smile to your face.

Navigational freedom: With the islands in close proximity, you have the liberty to tailor your route to the weather and your guests’ preferences.

The Seychelles offer an abundance of activities

Marine life encounters: Dive with whale sharks, dolphins, and sea turtles. The marine life in the Seychelles is teeming with vibrancy. The surrounding environment offers a breathtaking diversity, and snorkelling is delightful even just off the shore. Don’t miss out on diving in the Baie Ternay Marine Park, where flourishing coral reefs await. The underwater visibility is superb, particularly in early spring.

Water toys: In the Seychelles, you can have a blast with all kinds of water toys, from pedal SUP boards like the Mirage Eclipse to plenty more.

Fishing adventures: The Seychelles offer exceptional fishing opportunities. Engage in offshore fishing for species like swordfish and tuna or try fly-fishing — Alphonse Island is renowned among fly-fishing fans.

Beach bliss: Request beach setups and dinners from the crew without time constraints, amidst a variety of stunning backdrops.

Birdwatching haven: For birdwatching enthusiasts, the Seychelles are a dream. Over 250,000 bird species inhabit the mangroves and protected lagoons. Anchor at locations like Alphonse, St. Francois, Astove, Cosmoledo, or Poivre, find a comfortable spot-on deck, and observe with binoculars in hand.

Luxury resorts: When you yearn for solid ground beneath your feet, or simply desire a sumptuous dinner, a whole range of luxury resorts such as Marriott, Four Seasons, Hilton, and Club Med offer an array of choices. Whether you opt for a midday retreat at a hotel beach club or nightly dinners on the shore, the experience is endlessly engaging. Seychelles’ restaurants are noteworthy, featuring private dining with sustainable, locally-sourced ingredients, reimagined classics, and custom cocktails.

Idyllic cruising, barefoot luxury, and crystal-clear waters — these are the hallmarks of the Seychelles. After a sojourn on a yacht, you’ll understand why the French aptly call this archipelago ’Iles des Reves’ — the Islands of Your Dreams.
